06/25/08 - India.Arie is set to make her Broadway debut! India's debut SoulBird artist... album in stores NOW!

India.Arie on Broadway — produced by Whoopi Goldberg. The Grammy-winning singer will make her Broadway debut in a revival of Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf." She will open in the play Sept. 8 at Circle in the Square in NYC. Preview performances begin Aug. 19 in what will be a revised and updated version of the play, which was an off-Broadway hit for the Public Theater in 1976 before transferring to Broadway for a run of more than 700 performances.

The new production will be directed by Shirley Jo Finney and choreographed by Hinton Battle, a three-time Tony winner.
"For Colored Girls...," a prose-poem portrait of black women in America, originally featured Shange and Trazana Beverley, who won a Tony for her performance.

Acclaimed Universal Republic rock band 3 Doors Down topped the Billboard 200 chart this week for the second time in their career. India.Arie To Star In Broadway Show 'Colored Girls' ( BILLBOARD MAGAZINE, March 12, 2008)

Grammy-winning R&B artist India.Arie will star in the first Broadway revival of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf," which will be produced by Whoopi Goldberg and DreamTeam Entertainment this summer.

The first preview is scheduled for mid-July, in advance of an early August opening. Shirley Jo Finney will direct, and Hinton Battle, a three-time Tony winner, will choreograph. The Tony-nominated play, which ran for nearly two years on Broadway in the '70s, presents the stories of seven women of color from the African diaspora.

India.Arie's role in "For Colored Girls" follows a 2008 Best R&B Song Grammy nomination for "Beautiful Flower." Her cover of the Don Henley song "The Heart of the Matter," a track from her Billboard 200 No. 1 album "Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship," is featured in the new trailer for the upcoming "Sex and the City" film.

05/23/08 - 3 Doors Down Postpones European Dates
3 Doors Down is announcing today the postponement of it's European 2008 tour which was scheduled to kick off in the U.K.on May 30th and run through mid-June. All shows will be re-scheduled at a later date.

This announcement will not affect the band's upcoming U.S. tour, The 3 Doors Down Summer Tour, which is scheduled to begin on July 9th, and will include Rock bands, Staind and Hinder. 3 Doors Down released their new self-titled album, 3 Doors Down, this past Tuesday. It is anticipated to debut in the top tier of the Billboard Top 200 albums chart next week.
